Police said they have broken up an interstate gang suspected of diverting truckloads of electronics goods from highway routes, arresting five people including a transport company employee accused of leaking route details.

Investigators recovered goods estimated at four crore rupees from two warehouses used to store the stolen cargo before resale.

The gang is believed to have been active for over a year, targeting shipments on a handful of long-haul routes. Police said further arrests are likely.
