Ceasefire negotiations resumed on Thursday after a week-long pause, mediators confirmed, following a breakthrough on the narrower issue of humanitarian corridor access.

Both delegations have agreed to extend the current truce by 48 hours while talks continue, though officials cautioned that the core disagreements that caused the earlier pause remain unresolved.

A regional envoy is expected to join the talks later this week in an effort to bridge the remaining gaps.
